Presentation
A 19-year old male presented with asymptomatic, palpable yellow lines over back along with striae distensae over axilla. Light microscopic examination demonstrated dermal thickening but no change in the epidermis. [pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]
Both strenuous exercise and growth spurt might have been responsible for the development of LFE in the present case. [jpgmonline.com]
Linear focal elastosis presents as yellow, palpable lines extending horizontally over the lower back. There are also reports of linear focal elastosis on the trunk, lower limbs and face [4,5]. [dermnetnz.org]
His medications included atorvastatin and aspirin, both of which he had been taking for more than 10 years at the time of presentation. [ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

- Asymptomatic
A 12-year-old boy presented with asymptomatic linear skin lesions over the back. There was no history of exercise, trauma, excessive or rapid weight gain or loss, and topical or systemic drug use. [indianpediatrics.net]
Methods: We present a typical case of an eighty-three year old white man with a one-year history of asymptomatic linear yellow and erythematous plaques on his lumbar region. [pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

Exact pathogenesis is not known, though both degeneration and regeneration of elastic fibres is thought to contribute towards skin lesions. [indianpediatrics.net]

Treatment
Systemic associations have not been reported, and no treatment is usually required. [indianpediatrics.net]
No effective treatment for linear focal elastosis has been described. Topical steroid and topical retinoid have shown no benefit [1]. [dermnetnz.org]
Other treatment option includes centella asiatica extract.[2] Declaration of patient consent The authors certify that appropriate patient consent was obtained. Financial support and sponsorship Nil. [jpgmonline.com]
No known risk factors or disease associations have been identified, and treatment of linear focal elastosis is unnecessary. [ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]
Pathophysiology
These studies could shed light on the pathophysiology of linear focal elastosis or its relationship with striae distensae. Footnotes Funding sources: None. Conflicts of interest: None declared. References 1. Hagari Y., Norimoto M., Mihara M. [ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]
The pathophysiology of linear focal elastosis is not entirely clear. However, several clinical and microscopic findings suggest that linear focal elastosis and striae distensae may represent different stages of the same process. [jaadcasereports.org]
[1] Although the most typical site of location is the back, LFE has also been reported on the face and extremities.[2] Reporting of familial cases have highlighted the possibility of genetic predisposition in this otherwise acquired disorder.[3] Its pathophysiology [jpgmonline.com]
